Filmmaking has been my passion for years now and I have every intention on making this passion into a career. I have experience with every major aspect of film including, but not limited to, writing, directing, and editing. With these skills I am able to create a modern business available and specific to the Millennial generation. Referred to as having “short attention spans” and “being impatient”, we millennials stay true to that stereotype, but in a way that can work to our advantage. I have created an idea and business model that has taken these stereotypes to form a business using millennials’ need for instant gratification to my advantage.
A generation of youtube fanatics and vine users, there is no denying that my generation loves our screens. We may not be as appreciative of what is in front of us, and are often accused that we only watch something for as long as we are intrigued. The business plan I have created imitates these short, yet captivating, videos in a way more useful and meaningful to our viewers.
“Recap” is a website where you can access your memories. When a person takes a picture of an event, their brain is less likely to remember that event because it knows it is stored somewhere on your their to access later. So why not have someone else capture that memory for you? There will always be something going on that captures your attention that you feel the need to share the world, so why not do that as well as enjoy it for yourself?
Me and a partner are up for hire for any event. Weddings, birthday parties, charity auctions, sporting events, or anything you want to remember, we will capture for you. With the two of us two cameras, and our skill set, we will capture every precious moment. I will then take the footage (photo and video) and create a visual recap of the event. An upbeat, fast-paced, collaboration of clips with high-intensity music in the background will picture the event, without you needing to snap any pictures or videos of your own. For the first time, you can both experience everything at the present time, and look back at anything you want to relive. And because of the free consultation beforehand to discuss the client's likes and dislikes, this 5-10 minute montage of pictures and videos is guaranteed fit to your wants.
With a base fee of $25 for the short video and an hourly rate of $8 depending on the event, Recap is an affordable way to create moments the way you want to remember them. Accessible through your personal dvd and your private account online, you can not only have the memories stored in your brain, but also anywhere you want to remember them. With easy access to a website, you can even remind your friends how fun an event was, or show them what they missed.
